Beetroot is a dark red color vegetable. The rich flesh of this root vegetable is naturally sweet and nutritious. Beet roots may have high carbohydrate levels and highest sugar content of all vegetables. The usually deep red roots of beetroot are eaten raw either grilled, boiled, steamed or roasted as a cooked vegetable, cold as a salad after cooking and adding oil and vinegar or raw and shredded, either alone or combined with any salad. You can also use in drink or curry or pickle or sweet dish. Beetroot is an excellent source of folate and a good source of manganese and contains betaines.
